Meet Kalee - the founder of Curious Nature Studio

“Every day I learn something new, and share something old.”

I have always had a curious nature. I grew up with my hands in the dirt and my head in the clouds. Nature was my first teacher—patient, generous, and endlessly fascinating. Over time, that childhood curiosity grew into a lifelong love of herbalism and the quiet ways plants help us reconnect with ourselves and the natural world.

Herbalism had long been a personal passion, but managing a naturopathic clinic gave me the opportunity to learn from an incredible community of practitioners, educators, and clients who encouraged me to deepen my knowledge and continue exploring the world of plants. I also spent more than a decade working as a nurse in health care, supporting seniors, people receiving palliative care & their families, and individuals living with chronic illness. Those experiences taught me compassion, patience, and the importance of meeting people exactly where they are—lessons that continue to shape how I teach, listen, and support my community today.

My formal herbal training began with The Science & Art of Herbalism by Rosemary Gladstar, and the Wild Rose College of Natural Healing. I later earned my degree in Holistic Health Science and I am currently studying with the International Quantum University of Integrative Medicine, expanding my understanding of the connections between the body, mind, and our overall well-being. Every day I learn something new and share something old.

Tarot arrived during a season of personal change, offering comfort and clarity when life felt uncertain. It became a way to listen inward, recognize my own patterns, and grow with intention. Today, I teach tarot as a tool for reflection—a mirror that helps us understand ourselves with greater honesty and compassion.

I've always lived a life of small business and creative exploration. I've built things, broken things, rebuilt them, and learned through every step. My entrepreneurial journey has never been linear, but it has always been authentic, and I love encouraging others as they discover their own path.

Curious Nature Studio is where all of these passions come together—a place for learning, crafting, exploring, and reconnecting with nature. It's a space where people are invited to touch, smell, ask questions, and experience the world of herbs and tarot firsthand. A place where curiosity leads the way.

My philosophy is rooted in connection—to plants, to intuition, to community, and to ourselves. I believe learning should be accessible, hands-on, and deeply human. I believe plants invite us into a deeper relationship with the natural world. I believe intuition is a skill we all carry. And I believe honesty and curiosity make us better learners, teachers, and people.

Inside the apothecary, everything is created with intention. Botanical crafting is a conversation between maker and plant—a blend of knowledge, creativity, and care. I proudly support local makers because community matters, and because creativity deserves a place to flourish.

My mission is simple: to help people explore their curiosity. To try new things. To make mistakes. To grow. To feel empowered and capable. To reconnect with nature—and with themselves.

And me? I'm a Leo—warm, expressive, and endlessly curious. A lifelong learner who creates something every day. After more than fifty years of living, I finally feel ready to share myself fully with my community. This work is my calling, and I'm grateful to learn, create, and grow with you.
