Medicine Hat Tarot Circle
A Community of Practice for Tarot Readers
The Medicine Hat Tarot Circle is a free monthly gathering for amateur and professional tarot readers to practise their craft, exchange knowledge and experience, and build connections with other readers.
Curious Nature provides the space and the tea. You bring the cards and the conversation.
What Is Tarot Circle?
Tarot doesn't have to be a solitary practice.
The Medicine Hat Tarot Circle brings local tarot readers together around the same table to talk about the cards, share experiences, ask questions, practise readings and learn from one another.
Think of it as an informal community of practice. There is no formal curriculum and no single teacher at the front of the room. Amateur and professional readers meet as peers, each bringing their own experience, perspective and relationship with tarot.
Everyone has something to learn, and everyone has something to contribute.
Around the Table
Tarot Circle is intentionally organic, with just enough structure to help everyone settle in and start the conversation.
Meet the Readers
We'll begin by getting to know who's around the table: who you are, how long you've been reading, and the deck you're currently working with.
Open Discussion
Bring your questions, discoveries and challenges. Maybe there's a card you're struggling with, an interpretation you'd like another perspective on, or simply something about tarot you'd like to discuss.
Shared Practice
The final portion of the Circle is usually reserved for readers who would like to practise by reading for one another, comparing approaches and learning through experience.
Some evenings may take us somewhere completely different. If the group becomes interested in a particular card, technique, spread or idea, we're happy to follow the conversation. The Circle belongs to the readers around the table.
Who Is Tarot Circle For?
Tarot Circle welcomes amateur and professional tarot readers age 15 and older.
You don't need to read professionally, know every card by memory, or have years of experience. You should have a fundamental understanding of a tarot deck and some understanding of how you personally connect with and read the cards.
If you're already working with tarot and want more opportunities to practise, explore and connect with other readers, there is a seat for you at the table.
Different Readers. Different Approaches.
Tarot readers don't all read the same way — and we don't expect them to.
Traditional, intuitive, reflective, spiritual, predictive and other reading styles can all bring something different to the conversation.
We can look at the same card and see something different. Rather than trying to determine which interpretation is “right,” Tarot Circle gives us an opportunity to understand how another reader sees and works with the cards.
A Note About Shared Readings
Tarot Circle is a community practice space. Readings during the Circle are shared learning experiences, not private readings.
Other readers will be nearby and may hear your reading, contribute observations or interpretations, ask questions, or participate in the discussion. This is part of how we practise and learn from one another.
No one is required to give or receive a reading. If you choose to participate in a reading during Circle, please bring only questions and subjects that you are comfortable discussing in a group environment.
Tarot Circle is not a place to come for a free tarot reading. If you would prefer a private, confidential reading, please arrange one separately with the tarot reader of your choice for another time.
How We Read Together
Tarot Circle is built around curiosity, kindness and respect for both the reader and the person being read for. Different perspectives are welcome. Disrespectful reading practices are not.
- Read from a place of kindness and respect.
- Respect different tarot traditions, techniques and reading styles.
- Personal information shared through a reading stays at the table.
- Giving and receiving readings is always voluntary.
- We do not make predictions of death, harm or tragedy.
- Ask questions, exchange ideas and allow other readers to see the cards differently.
Tarot Circle isn't about proving who is the better reader. It's about becoming better readers together.
Bring Your Cards & Your Curiosity
Curious Nature supplies the gathering space and the tea. Please bring your own tarot deck.
You're also welcome to bring a notebook, another deck you'd like to share, a spread you've been experimenting with, a card that's been challenging you, or a question you'd like to put to the group.
Most importantly, bring your curiosity and a willingness to share what you know while remaining open to what another reader may have to teach you.

Reservations & Attendance
Space around the table is limited, so please call Curious Nature Studio to reserve your seat.
We recommend attending from the beginning so you have an opportunity to meet the other readers and take part in the opening conversation. We also understand that schedules don't always cooperate, so later arrivals and early departures can be accommodated when needed.
Because seating is limited, if you reserve a seat, please plan to participate in the Circle for at least one hour.
A Tarot Community in Medicine Hat
There is no membership, hierarchy or expectation that you attend every month. Come when you can. Stay for the conversation. Read when you want to read. Listen when you want to listen.
Our hope is simply to create a place where tarot readers in Medicine Hat and the surrounding area can find one another.
Over time, we hope the Circle grows organically into a community of friends and colleagues brought together by a shared love of tarot and the art of card divination.
What that community eventually becomes is something we'll discover together.
Pull Up a Chair
Tarot Circle is free, but our table only has room for 11 guests. Call Curious Nature Studio to save your seat for the next gathering.
